For 13 days, we’ll live a total immersion experience in Colombia, where thanks to its incredible biodiversity, we’ll discover places as different as they are fascinating.
We’ll explore cities like the beautiful colonial Cartagena de Indias with its architecture and festive atmosphere, and the modern cities of Medellín and Bogotá.
We’ll also visit natural wonders such as the Cocora Valley in the Coffee Region and Tayrona National Park.
We’ll dive into the history of Comuna 13, learn about the lifestyle of local tribes, discover (and taste) the coffee-making process at a typical coffee farm, laugh and dance to the rhythm of Colombian music, and have time to relax on the Caribbean’s stunning beaches.
If you want to live countless experiences with new friends, don’t hesitate—join Nomad Bee and live these and many more adventures!
This is a linear itinerary, meaning the trip will start in Bogotá and end in Cartagena de Indias. Therefore, you’ll need to book international flights arriving in Bogotá and returning from Cartagena de Indias.
For 13 days, we’ll experience an intense adventure with several domestic transfers, nature hikes, and a few early mornings, requiring flexibility and adaptability for a trip like this.
During this itinerary, there will be some walks that require a basic fitness level. However, they won’t involve excessive physical effort and will be optional. We’ll have some busy days covering several kilometers to explore cities, beaches, and national parks.
We begin our amazing adventure through this beautiful country!
International flights are not included in the trip price, so you’re free to choose the flights that suit you best. Remember: your arrival flight must be to Bogotá, and your return flight will be from Cartagena de Indias.
Around 6:00 p.m., the trip coordinator will be waiting for you at the welcome hotel in Bogotá with a little surprise and lots of excitement to meet everyone.
Today will be the welcome talk, your first impressions of the city, and the chance to meet your travel companions — the adventure begins!
Get to the meeting point on your own without any hassle: in the WhatsApp group, the coordinator will explain the easiest way to reach the accommodation for the first night, where all participants will meet.
(Included: accommodation. Personal expenses: airport transfer, meals, and drinks.)
Today we’ll spend the day exploring some of Bogotá’s most iconic landmarks through a tour of its most emblematic neighborhoods, such as La Candelaria and the colonial historic center, as well as the Gold Museum. We’ll also head up to Monserrate Hill by cable car and end the day with a traditional Colombian dinner, toasting to the rhythm of the music with our travel companions!
(Included: accommodation. Common fund: entrance fees and local transport. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
Today we’ll get up early to head toward the Coffee Region, specifically to Salento, one of the most charming towns in Colombia. It’s famous for its coffee plantations, colonial architecture, beautiful views and natural landscapes, and of course, for being the gateway to the stunning Cocora Valley, which we’ll visit the following day.
After checking in at the hotel, we’ll visit a coffee farm to learn about the secrets of the coffee production process — from planting and harvesting to processing and, finally, tasting. It will definitely be worth it!
(Included: accommodation, domestic flight to Eje Cafetero, and coffee farm experience in Salento. Common fund: other local transports. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
Today we’ll hop on a famous Willy jeep that will take us to this incredible valley, home to the tallest wax palm trees in the world. We’ll venture into the valley on a hike with breathtaking palm-filled views you’ll remember for a lifetime. We’ll also visit a magical spot full of hummingbirds. After completing this circular route, we can enjoy a horseback ride or a delicious traditional meal from the Quindío region.
In the afternoon, we’ll stroll through the beautiful streets of Salento and browse its local crafts.
(Included: accommodation. Common fund: entrance fees and local transport. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
Today we’ll take a domestic flight to Medellín, the City of Eternal Spring — the city of Botero, Comuna 13, and a past once linked to narcotrafficking and Pablo Escobar.
We’ll have time to enjoy a typical local dish, such as a bandeja paisa, and visit the Museum of Antioquia, home to a major collection by one of the world’s most renowned artists, Fernando Botero.
We’ll also explore other highlights of the city, like the Botanical Garden or one of its hills offering breathtaking views over Medellín.
(Included: accommodation and domestic flight to Medellín. Common fund: entrance fees and local transport. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
Today we’ll visit one of the most iconic places in Medellín, and perhaps all of Colombia — Comuna 13. Once one of the most dangerous neighborhoods, controlled by guerrilla and paramilitary groups, it has transformed from an epicenter of violence into an artistic haven filled with murals, viewpoints, and street art. We’ll take a guided tour with a local expert who will share the history of the neighborhood and the story behind its incredible transformation.
Later, we’ll have time to enjoy Medellín’s vibrant nightlife and lively bars, raising a toast with our new friends to this amazing journey!
(Included: accommodation and Graffiti Tour in Comuna 13. Common fund: optional activities and local transport. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
Today we’ll visit Guatapé, without a doubt one of the most beautiful towns in Colombia, and climb the Rock of El Peñol, conquering its 700+ steps to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views.
This town once suffered a flood that left more than half of it underwater. Thanks to the resilience and hard work of its residents, Guatapé was rebuilt and is now a must-see destination, famous for its colorful zócalos (decorative base panels) that tell the story of the town.
In the afternoon, we’ll return to Medellín to keep enjoying its vibrant atmosphere, restaurants, and lively streets.
(Included: accommodation. Common fund: entrance fees and transport to Guatapé. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
Today we’ll take a domestic flight to Santa Marta and head toward Tayrona National Park to see the Caribbean Sea for the very first time — finally!
Once inside the park, we’ll enjoy a hike through crystal-clear beaches and lush nature trails until reaching Cabo San Juan.
At night, we’ll continue soaking in this paradise. Fancy falling asleep to the sound of ocean waves? It’s pure luxury.
(Included: accommodation and domestic flight to Santa Marta. Common fund: entrance fees and local transport. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
Note: In Colombia, Tayrona National Park closes three times a year for maintenance: February 1–15, June 1–15, and October 19–November 2. During these dates, we’ll follow an alternative tour to Minca, in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta — a small village surrounded by tropical jungle, where we’ll go hiking, visit waterfalls, and enjoy a truly special lodging experience.
Waking up in such a magical place is a true gift. Today we’ll feel privileged to start the day in this natural haven, taking the chance to keep enjoying its beaches in a very special spot hidden in nature.
We’ll stay in a privileged accommodation with a private beach and luxury pool, where we can sip a cocktail, relax, read, and wander through the enchanting surroundings. We can also play volleyball with our travel family and enjoy the amazing food and nightlife the place has to offer.
At night, we’ll dance and have a bonfire on the beach — a perfect experience.
(Included: accommodation. Common fund: entrance fees and local transport. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
This morning we’ll wake up calmly, not wanting to say goodbye to the Tayrona area — but another very special destination awaits us. We’ll take a bus from Santa Marta that will take us straight to one of the most beautiful colonial cities in the world: Cartagena de Indias.
We’ll have our first contact with this historic city, strolling through its colonial streets and along its old city walls while enjoying a beautiful sunset. Later on, we’ll savor a typical northern Colombian dinner and dive into the city’s lively nightlife. A full and exciting day!
(Included: accommodation and private transport to Cartagena. Common fund: entrance fees and local transport. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
oday we’ll enjoy a unique island excursion near Cartagena. We’ll go snorkeling in crystal-clear waters and enjoy lunch on Isla Cholón, famous for its tables set right in the sea. Then we’ll continue to Playa del Amor, a charming little spot with white sand and calm waters. We’ll end the day in Barú, watching a beautiful sunset that leads to a truly magical moment: witnessing bioluminescence lighting up the night.
Alternatively, we may visit Tierra Bomba, an island close to Cartagena, where we’ll spend the day enjoying its beaches at a beach club — relaxing by the pool, reading, or sharing a few beers together in the heart of the Caribbean.
In the afternoon, we’ll return to Cartagena to visit San Felipe Castle and recall how Blas de Lezo led the city’s defense, where 27,000 English soldiers and 186 ships were defeated by just 4,000 Spanish soldiers with 6 ships.
(Included: accommodation. Common fund: optional activities and local transport. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
We’ll dedicate this day to relaxing after some intense days. We’ll continue discovering the city — its streets, its flowers of every imaginable color, and we’ll have time to unwind, explore its architecture or museums, and maybe do some last-minute shopping. This city is also perfect for enjoying one of the best culinary scenes in Latin America.
We might even feel like taking a guided bike tour, joining a cooking class, or simply exploring every corner on our own while photographing the most iconic spots of this wonderful city!
At night, we’ll enjoy our farewell dinner and spend our final moments of the trip toasting to new friendships and all the magical memories we’ve made.
(Included: accommodation. Common fund: optional activities and local transport. Personal expenses: meals and drinks.)
Final hugs — and probably a few tears — before heading home. We won’t even be back yet and we’ll already be looking forward to seeing each other again on another Nomad Bee trip. See you very soon!

Nomad Bee travel gymbag
Although it depends a lot on the person, the average personal expenses for breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and other purchases usually amount to around 300€, including the diving experience.
The approximate common fund is 250€ and will vary depending on the extra activities you wish to do during the itinerary. This fund will be given to the coordinator in local currency and any remaining balance will be returned at the end of the trip.
We are an adventure travel agency. We create experiences you will never forget, and you are sure to want to repeat. BUT, it is important that our trips suit you and that you suit our way of travelling.

Are flights included in the fare?
International flights from Spain are not included in the price. You have complete flexibility when choosing which airport and flight times suit you best. You can even arrive a few days before the trip starts or stay on for a few days after it ends.
Can you help me choose the flights?
Of course! If you have any questions about which flights might be best for you, please contact us and we will help you.
We recommend using the flight search engine Skyscanner.com to see all the options.
Remember that we will usually land one day after the departure date (due to flight duration, stopovers and time differences), so you will need to choose a departure date one day before the start of your trip.
How does the common fund work?
The common fund is the money we will use throughout the itinerary for all participants’ expenses such as local transport, entrance fees, extra activities and the coordinator’s common fund. For each trip, we set an estimated fund that may vary slightly depending on the extra activities we want to do or not do.
It is used to facilitate the management of payments at the destination, and food and drink expenses will not be managed with this fund.
On the first day of the trip, the coordinator will collect the common fund in local currency and will be responsible for managing it.
On the booking page with all the tour details, we include the estimated amount of the common fund, which includes the coordinator’s share of the common fund.
Does the coordinator contribute to the common fund?
No, the coordinator’s common fund is covered by the travellers, each of whom contributes an equal share.
What is the role of the trip coordinator?
On all Nomad Bee trips, there will be a group leader in charge of logistics and support during the trip.
They will be responsible for talking to suppliers, arranging transport, advising you before and during the trip, and suggesting extra activities.
A coordinator is not a guide as such, but rather another travel companion whose role is to ensure that your only concern is to enjoy and make the most of the trip. They will take care of everything for you.
You will meet them two weeks before the trip when the WhatsApp group is created. From then on, you will have direct contact with them and will be able to ask any questions you may have and get advice about the trip.
What are our travellers like?
Our travellers are adaptable people. We don’t offer trips stays at resorts in Punta Cana: we’re talking about adventure trips. People who are willing to live and share with strangers who, by the end of the trip, become new friends.
During the adventure, unforeseen events may arise. We hope that none will, but they can happen: a hotel may run out of hot water, a transfer may be delayed, or the weather may play tricks on us. These are things that can happen in many destinations with different logistical resources, and we face them with a good attitude and a sense of humour.
If you don’t think you adapt easily to the unexpected, perhaps our trips are not for you… and that’s fine, everyone knows what works for them.
Can you change the itinerary?
We are almost certain that we will be going on this trip. However, please note that the itinerary, activities and accommodation are subject to change. These changes may occur without prior notice due to availability, bad weather, seasonal changes or other circumstances beyond our control. From time to time, we may also make changes to the itinerary to try out new ideas and keep things fresh.
What documentation is required? Do I need a visa?
If you are Spanish, you will need a valid passport, and no visa is required if you stay for less than 90 days.
If you are of another nationality, please check with the embassy or relevant institutions.
Which airport should I fly to?
The arrival flight must be to Bogotá (BOG) and the departure flight must be from Cartagena de Indias (CTG).
What time should I arrive at the destination?
You should arrive around 5:00 p.m. at the specified place and date to start the adventure
What are the accommodations like and who will I be sharing a room with?
The accommodations on this trip will be double, triple, or quadruple rooms, with double rooms prioritized, shared with people of the same gender. However, depending on the country and location, you may need to share a room with more people.
We prioritize local accommodations rather than large hotel chains, ensuring our experience is authentic and fun with our travel companions and new friends, while also supporting the local economy. For example, on the night we spend in Tayrona National Park, we will sleep in a tent by the sea, a truly special experience.
A few days before the trip, we will send you all the accommodation details through the WhatsApp group.
Can the itinerary change?
Yes — in Colombia there are three periods a year when Tayrona National Park closes for maintenance.
During those dates (February, June, and October), we have an alternative tour prepared: instead of visiting Tayrona, we will go to Minca, in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta — a small village surrounded by lush tropical jungle, where we’ll enjoy hiking, visit waterfalls, and have a very special accommodation and experience.
Is it mandatory to get vaccinated to enter Colombia?
It is not mandatory to be vaccinated to enter Colombia. However, it is highly recommended to have a yellow fever vaccine, especially when visiting natural areas like Tayrona National Park, where it is required for entry unless you sign a liability waiver provided by the park.
We recommend checking with your nearest International Vaccination Center for guidance.
What if I want to sleep alone?
When making the reservation, if available, you can select the single room supplement to have your own room during the trip.
