Welcome to this SurfCamp in one of the most beautiful regions of Spain: Asturias, and in particular the area of Ribadesella with its amazing nature made up of wonderful beaches, giant cliffs, and mountains, rivers and lakes that will make you fall in love at first sight.
During 5 days we will enjoy an intensive surfing experience (for all levels) with our travelling family where we will learn all the secrets of this sport while living an adventure full of emotions, sunset barbecues, and moments of beach and fun.
And as if this were not enough, we’ll have the opportunity to make the famous descent of the river Sella in kayak with a well-deserved typical Asturian meal to finish.
Discover a different way of travelling and let yourself be surprised by the magic of the north with new friends. Will you join us?
The trip will start at the Surf House in Ribadesella where we will live together and which is located in front of the beach of Ribadesella. It will be intense days of surf lessons, good vibes, Asturian gastronomy and moments to enjoy nature.
This is a collaboration with the community Guiris de Mierda and our guides and travellers will be English speakers.
There will be moments of peace and rest of course, and on the other hand it is a trip focused on surfing with 2 hours of lessons per day and time for free practice. We will also kayak down the Sella river and do some hiking if we feel like discovering the incredible nature of the region.
Nomad Bee and Guiris de Mierda join their forces again to offer this Asturias Surf Experience, an amazing experience in the north of Spain, to all of you daring and adventurous individuals.
Of course you can! This trip is for everyone who wants to live this experience whether you are a surfing beginner or an expert. The lessons will be adapted to the levels and the important thing will be enjoying these days of beach, surf and friends.
Because it is located in one of the most beautiful regions of Spain and our Surf House is right in front of the beach, ideal for the comfort and practice of surfing and with the possibility of visiting spectacular places in the surroundings.
Our adventure begins in our Surf House in Ribadesella, a small town in Asturias that will be our starting point and our home for the five days of our trip. Transport to Ribadesella is not included in the price of the trip so you choose how to get to the starting point.
We will be waiting for you at the welcome accommodation to get to know each other and at 18.30 have the welcome meeting with all the details and introductions.
We will enjoy our welcome barbecue and share our first moments (and beers) before diving into the exciting world of surfing.
Get to the meeting point on your own without complications: By public transport, blablacar or carpooling with other members of the trip. In the Whatsapp group that we create 2 weeks before, the coordinator will explain you how to get to the accommodation on the first day, where we will meet all the participants of the trip, in the easiest way.
(Included: Accommodation and welcome barbecue / Personal expenses: transport, other meals and drinks).
Today we will have our first surfing session, with a lesson given by professional instructors who will give us all the indications to start looking like Kelly Slater himself.
After enjoying a day at the beach we will go to a restaurant to taste the famous Asturian gastronomy: fabes, cachopos, cabrales cheese…and of course some fresh cider!
In the afternoon we can continue surfing or get to know the surroundings through a route between cliffs and spectacular beaches. Coastal villages, green meadows and impressive cliffs.
Whatever we do, we will definitely have some well deserved beers in the evening.
(Included: Accommodation and breakfast + 2 hours surf lessons and equipment rental all day / Personal expenses: other meals, drinks and services not specified).
We will start the day with another wonderful surfing lesson and enjoy the sea breeze and the sea.
After the morning surf session, we will move to Arriondas, the beginning of our descent of the Sella river, a fun experience where we will make its incredible descent in kayak, surrounded by green landscapes, its calm waters and of course, its fun stops for some cider.
At the end of the day, we will be rewarded with a dinner in an authentic traditional Asturian cider house that makes this region a unique place and with some walks in the village of Ribadesella to get to know this small town and enjoy the night with our companions.
(Included: Accommodation and breakfast + 2 hours of surf lessons and equipment rental all day + Kayak rental for the Descent of the Sella / Personal expenses: other meals, drinks and services not specified).
Today will be a day completely dedicated to surfing. It’s already our third day surfing, and without a doubt, we feel more comfortable and relaxed on the boards, enjoying the waves with the same excitement as always, but with a touch of confidence. We are sure to see some great turns and progress.
After our surfing session and a short rest we will have a yoga session ideal to learn about our body, its flexibility, balance and to be aware of the energy of the nature that surrounds us.
We’ll have time also to relax on the beach, stroll along the shore, or just chill out and enjoy the atmosphere.
Late in the afternoon, we’ll all gather for a farewell barbecue, where we’ll toast to all the laughter, adventures and unforgettable moments we’ve had on this trip. One last night together, sharing stories and fun while the fire of the barbecue lights up the farewell.
A perfect end to a trip full of fun and good company!
(Included: Accommodation and breakfast + 2 hours of surf lessons and equipment rental all day / Personal expenses: other meals, drinks and services not specified).
Today it’s time to say goodbye to our new friends and think about the next adventure with Nomad Bee and Guiris de Mierda.

How does the common fund work?
The common fund is the money we will use throughout the itinerary for the expenses of all participants, such as local transport, tickets, extra activities… for each trip, we establish an estimated pot that may vary slightly depending on the extra activities we want to do or not. It is used to facilitate the management of payments on-site, and the expenses for meals and drinks will not be managed with this pot. On the first day of the trip, the coordinator will collect the common fund in local currency and will be in charge of its management.
What role does the trip coordinator play?
In all Nomad Bee trips, there will be a coordinator or group leader responsible for logistics and support during the trip. They will be responsible for communicating with suppliers, managing transportation, advising you before and during the trip, and proposing extra activities.
A coordinator is not a guide as such but rather another travel companion whose role is to ensure that your only concern is to enjoy and make the most of the trip. They will be known to you two weeks before the trip when the WhatsApp group is created. From then on, you will have direct contact with them and can resolve your doubts and seek advice for the trip.
What age range will the participants in this trip have?
This trip will be composed of a small group of 6 to 20 people of a similar age for similar tastes and interests, ensuring the best possible coexistence and experience.
The age range for Nomad Bee tours goes from 25 to 49 years mainly.
How can I get to know my travel companions?
Two weeks before the trip, the coordinator will create a WhatsApp group with all the participants in the trip.
However, if you want to contact your travel companions in advance, enter our Facebook group to get to know each other and stay informed about all offers, new itineraries, and news from Nomad Bee.
Can the itinerary change?
We are almost certain that we are going to do this proposed trip. However, it should be noted that the itinerary, activities, and accommodations are subject to change. These changes may occur without notice due to availability, bad weather, seasonal changes, or other circumstances beyond our control. Occasionally, we may also make changes to the itinerary to try out new ideas and keep things fresh.
How do I get to the meeting point?
There are several ways to get to Ribadesella:
By car 🚘: From Madrid it will take you 5 hours and from Barcelona about 8 hours and a half. You can also share a car with other members of the group or use the Blablacar app.
By bus 🚍: to Gijón from cities like Barcelona or Madrid. You would have to travel to Gijón and from there travel to Ribadesella.
By train 🚆: Travelling from Madrid by RENFE (Ave) to Oviedo is a good option too. And from there you can take the Bus to Llanes, stopping in Ribadesella.
What time should I arrive at my destination?
You should arrive before 19pm approximately at the place and on the day indicated so that we have time to check in and have dinner together.
What are the accommodations like and who will I sleep with?
The accommodation on this trip will be bungalows with a double room and an upper floor with single beds that we will share exclusively with members of this group trip.
What kind of luggage do I have to bring on the trip?
For this particular trip we recommend that you bring clothes such as trousers, gloves or ski coat, thermal T-shirt, neck warmer, hat….
If you have your own equipment it would also be convenient if you bring it along with your boots… if you don’t have it, there is no problem because you can rent it.
